THE Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.’s Casino Filipino located at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino announced it is now one of the non-smoking establishments in Cebu City. This move was pursued on June 11, 2016 in support of City Ordinance 2241, or the Comprehensive Anti-Smoking Ordinance.
The Waterfront Casino Filipino pushed this movement not only to be at par with the international environmental standard of having designated smoking areas, but because the management believes in the benefits it can do not only to the guests and the establishment, but to the community and the environment as well.
Senior customer relations assistant Jojo Sullano said that while the hotel has a handful of customers who responded well to this new ruling, there are also guests who did not welcome the establishment’s move.
“Imposing the non-smoking rule also has its disadvantages. We sometimes lose customers but we know that if we start caring for health and the environment now, they will thank us in the future,” he said.
