At 15 years of existence, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino still remains to be Cebu City’s premier business and convention hotel. Since its inception in 1997, the hotel has been considered a Philippine landmark, owing to both its remarkable size and design, and the range of facilities and services that it offers.
It is still home to 561 guest rooms and suites, the largest Convention Center in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, ten wining and dining options, a 24-hour gym and a 24-hour casino.
With a total floor space of 10,000 square meter, the Convention Center has a total of ten function rooms, three executive boardrooms, and two Grand Ballrooms each seating 4,000 people.
A world-class facility deserves world-class cuisine and Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino’s ten dining outlets boasts of international dishes and delicacies and authentic Japanese, Chinese, Italian and Filipino Cuisine prepared by its renowned and multi-awarded culinary team.
Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino is also a leader in the meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions markets, having the largest function room facilities in the Visayas and Mindanao, making it the premier venue of the grandest events in the region.
On it’s 15th year, the hotel promises to enhance product offerings and services even more.
With a desire to yield better guest experiences, Waterfront embarked on a multi-million dollar program in early 2011 to make Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino even grander and more luxurious than what it already was.
It engaged the services of Steven Leach and Associates (SL+A) Manila, the Philippine arm of the world-renowned Steven Leach Group to redesign the Cebu property. SL + A Manila worked closely with the owners of Waterfront with the directive of achieving a luxurious yet highly efficient design aimed to provide a world-class welcoming experience.
The renovation is divided into three phases: the renovation of the grand and lower lobbies of the hotel; the renovation of the function rooms; and eventually the renovation of the larger convention facilities of the hotel. Phase one will be completed in the current year, while phases two and three will begin in 2013. Each phase costs around P100 million.
One can expect to see newly-installed glass panels for semi-enclosures, with bar areas in the middle of each area. Concert and convention attendees will see a newly-built ticket booth, and hotel guests can experience an even better check-in experience at the brand new Front Desk and reception. Separate canopies and entrances have also been built for the hotel, casino and convention areas, and a redesigned Concierge Area promises better and more efficient services. And lastly, the floor, ceiling, balconies and staircases of the even grander lobby.
These improvements to the hotel’s lobby, and eventually to its convention area, is supported by over 500 peers: hardworking and dedicated ladies and gentlemen all sharing in the Waterfront Motto of “Excellent Service Begins with Me.”
The guests’ patronage, support and loyalty have inspired Waterfront to continuously pursue its vision of being the premier entertainment and business hotel destination and the leader in the tourism industry in the country, committed to ensuring total guest satisfaction and providing gracious Filipino hospitality.
